National Guard – Bought with What.

The other day I was in the cafeteria eatin some lunch and a guy walks up to me and asks if I download music. I stutter some kind of response and he hands me a card and says I can download 10 songs from iTunes with it. Its a card promoting the National Guard. Yeah, giving me free songs really helps me warm up to the idea of going to Iraq. Not.

Anyway, here are the songs I got. I know you have prolly not heard of any of them, and actually I have not either. I found them via the “what others bought” relating to my new favorite group “Soulwax“.

Ever seen a Fritter Tree?

I am looking though a bunch of my old CD-Rs right now. Finding crappy MP3s, old videos, old art and work… I came across my backups of some of my Myth mapmaking work.

Near the end of my run tinkering with Myth and Myth II in terms of creating maps and plugins for it I attempted to make new sprites. Myth was a game that was pseudo-3D. The ground was a 3d mesh, and then the trees and characters and such were sprites that simulated 3D objects. Most of the sprites for trees and stuff were just single views that stayed with the camera. Thus being the easiest to make since they only needed one view to be made.

I would have to say that turned out pretty good. According to the Modification date on the file, I made that on Dec 27, 2000 at 2:28pm. This is when I was still in high school, and way before any of my schooling. Back when I was teaching my self these things.

I am still digging though all these CD-Rs, so expect a few more “relics” to show up 🙂

Atomic Wings

Atomic Wings

I went with Tim and some other friends to Quaker Steak and Lube last night. It was a lot of fun. Tuesdays are all you can eat wings nights, so we all did that and had a nice ammount of wings.

At the end though, as usuwal, they tried the Atomic Chicken Wings. I had never tried them in the past, and I thought since 3 people were going to be eating them that I would go ahead and try it too.

Holy Crap. Those things are CRAZY. I got though 2 wings and then the heat, and burn and such got to be too much. I could not make it to 4. My lips and mouth burned for about 30 mins after. And it burned all the way down for the rest of the night. I can actually feel it today. Still burning.

I don’t expect to be trying them again for quite some time :).
